I guess that would be me! Hello, Feathers (and anyone who may join after me)!

I'm LaTia/Spaztik, but most of my Pokemon playing friends call me Calypso (it's been my trainer name since Diamond/Pearl), and I don't mind if you call me that at all. I'm not quite a newbie to the competitive battling scene, but I'm not quite a rookie either, so I've got a more-than-basic knowledge of the terms and things like that.

I'm more interested in breeding and egg moves and good IVs than battling at the moment, so don't be afraid to ask me if there's something I can breed for you, because I love the challenge. I'm looking forward to learning more about team strategies and the different elements that make up a team (such as walls, special/physical sweepers, leads/anti-leads, choice Pokemon, and the like).

Feel free to drop by my journal, but you can also find me haunting EVERY Pokemon thread on GaiaOnline as xCalypso.

so... I hope this is okay to post, if not, feel free to delete. n_n

The Rules for 2010

I have no doubts that for some of you, it might be your first time even considering participation in the VGC, and therefore you aren't too sure what the general battle rules are. While they are all available on the official VGC website, I though I'd post them up here as well. The VGC metagame is very different from regular doubles, and is a completely different game when compared to singles. The allowance of two ubers per team seems to have brought out both the best and the worst, so it's important to know what your boundaries are, and how you can play to the best of your abilities.

Thanks for reading, and good luck.

Welcome!

Welcome to pokemonvgc , home of Livejournal's competitive pokemon community. Before posting, please head on over to the profile to read the rules. This is a community for discussing, attending, and competing in the Pokemon Video Game Championships. Feel free to share your teams, your trials, and anything else interesting you'd like to share!

I am currently busy finding this year's Japan VGC videos and creating various link pages, so please do not post anything until the community is officially open. Once we're in the clear, feel free to post an introduction about yourself. Official dates and locations will be posted shortly, followed by an account of the Seattle Qualifier next weekend!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day. :)
